STEP CHANGE - Launch of School Choice Inter-Party Working Group Report Comments: 0 Hon Heather Roy, Associate Minister of Education and ACT Party Deputy Leader, launches the report of the Inter-Party Working Group for School Choice at Parliament in February 2010. This working group was formed as a result of the confidence and supply agreement between the National and ACT Parties which enabled the current NZ Government to be formed after the November 2008 election. The reports recommends targetting the bottom 20% and top 5% of students aged between 6 and 16 years of age and exhorts the Minister of Education to establish a Taskforce to undertake the detailed analysis required in order to implement the recommendations in time for the 2011 school year. The two ACT members, Hon Heather Roy and Hon Sir Roger Douglas, have also released a minority report entitled "Free to Learn". Comment |
